Keri Russell Says Girls Were Out of the Mickey Mouse Membership Once They Looked “Sexually Packed with life”
Keri Russell reflects on her time with the brand new Mickey Mouse Membership and shares her thought as to why she and various girls left the demonstrate.
Keri Russell remembers when she used to be now no longer eligible to be a Mouseketeer.
The Felicity alum began starring on the Disney Channel remake of the '50s kids's diversity series The Mickey Mouse Membership in 1991. After two years, alongside the likes of Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and Ryan Gosling, she exited the series at the age of 17.
And she has a thought as to why.
“It’s normally girls who looked love they had been sexually packed with life,” the 48-365 days-normal informed Jesse Tyler Ferguson on the July 9 episode of his podcast Dinner's On Me of who got the boot from the demonstrate. “Which, perhaps, I used to be one of the indispensable first.”
She later added jokingly, “Pregnant Mouseketeers aren’t on the roster.”
The Diplomat actress also signaled that there used to be a disparity between the trajectory of feminine and male actors on the brand new Mickey Mouse Membership.
“We had boys protect till they had been love 19,” she acknowledged. “I used to be love, 'Um, by the ability, I had sex with that person, I do know that they’ve had sex.'”
The Mickey Mouse Membership alumni JC Chasez and Tony Lucca, Russell's ex-boyfriend, had been each 19 after they made their final appearance on the series in 1995.

Russell also equipped a thought on how she emerged from her child acting days unscathed.
“I deem what’s in fact the creepiest portion of kid acting is that normally, it’s one or two childhood with all adults and so that in fact accelerates the adultification of the whole thing,” she acknowledged, “and for the MMC there had been 19 of us. The adults had been invisible to me.”
Russell, who went on to have a successful acting occupation and receive four Emmy nominations for her work on reveals love The American citizens and The Diplomat, has spoken about her time on the Mickey Mouse Membership sooner than.
Asked if she saved anything from her time on the demonstrate, she informed W journal in 2023, “My sanity, my dignity.”
