The Being Mary Jane alum shared that her dad Sylvester “Cully” Union Jr. passed away April 3 after a prolonged fight with dementia. He used to be 81.
In a post on Instagram, Gabrielle, fifty three, described the illness as a “painfully slack disappearing” whereas noting that her dad’s situation used to be “what he experienced, on the opposite hand it wasn’t who he used to be.”
“It’s bewildering to feel relief that the agonize has ended, but profound heartbreak on the finality of his time,” she wrote within the April 4 post. “I do know I’m not the first or closing Daddy’s woman to buckle down and do this, and I’m sending like and therapeutic to anybody suffering the loss of a guardian. I do know his like is eternal and would possibly accumulate me in every realm.”
Alongside a montage of memorable moments with Sylvester, Gabrielle heralded the leisurely patriarch as “the life of EVERY celebration” who used to be “surrounded by like” in each put he went—and gave it freely in return.
